Key-Learnings

  • How to use the value you software brings to focus your testing
  • How to reframe the 'negative' RiskBased Testing into a more 'positive' Value Based Testing
  • How to link the value testing delivers to the value your software is intended to deliver.

Value Based Testing is a way to prioritize your testing efforts focussing on both the postive and negative impact your software can have.

In testing we always have prioritize the effort we put into testing. Traditionally Risk Based Testing is one of the methods used to do that, but -judging by its name- it is kind of focussing on the negative. In Value Based testing we are more interested in the value a system is intended to bring and how to ensure that that value is being delivered. See what techniques can be used to optimize the value add, while minimizing potential damage to this value (also known as risks).
